We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team in our San Antonio based clinics. As a Physical Therapy Assistant with CofC Pediatrics you would work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, providing treatments and exercises to patients to help them regain their physical abilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Implement and carry out treatment plans for pediatric patients (birth to age 20) under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist in a home health setting.
- Educate pediatric patients and their families on treatment options, exercises, and strategies for enhancing physical function within the home environment.
- Monitor patients' progress and work with the physical therapist to adjust treatment plans as needed to meet the unique needs of children and adolescents.
- Assist pediatric patients with exercises, stretches, and other physical activities tailored to their developmental stage and therapeutic goals.
- Support the use of modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and therapeutic massage, as appropriate for pediatric care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting progress and any changes in treatment.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive and effective care for pediatric patients.
- Maintain a safe, clean working environment while delivering care in patients' homes.
- Participate in professional development and continuing education to stay current with the latest pediatric treatment techniques and technologies in home health care.

Education and Experience:
Required:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant
Preferred:
- Experience working in a clinic healthcare setting
- Proficiency in documentation software
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach
- Fine motor skills to use tools and equipment
- Visual and auditory acuity to assess patients' conditions and communicate with patients and colleagues
